RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT AND
PLANNED GIVING

The Resource Development and Planned Giving Committee is charged with developing sources for the funds needed for the operation of the Nebraska Lions Foundation.  Funds are generated by: (1) per capita donations from individual Lions Clubs, (2) the Builders Awards Program for Clubs, members, and friends to honor or memorialize individuals, (3) bequests through will, etc., (4) the Sustaining Member Program which is designed to generate an ongoing revenue stream, (5) Club (or clusters of Clubs) fund raisers where all or a portion of the proceeds are donated to the Foundation, and (6) interest.

The Foundation continues to endorse the Lions Mint Program operated gy The Profit Masters, Inc.  The sales in Nebraska are starting to pick up quite nicely as of late.  The mints are largeer than those previously used, which should generate more money for participating clubs as those purchasing the mints are receiving more value for their money.  The success of the Lions Mint Program depens on the support of MD-38 Lions Clubs.  Several clubs in MD-38 are already participating in this program.

Individual Lions Clubs, or clubs working together throughout the state are asked to hold annual fund raisers for the Foundation.  This program has been a huge success.  The Papillion Lions Club had their Third Annual Golf Tournament with some of the proceeds going to the Foundation and the rest to their Youth Outreach Programs.  Elkhorn Lions held a gift exchange party with the balance of funds going to the Foundation.  Omaha Westside Lions, and Lincoln Star city Lions each held White Cane Days events with matching funds from Wal-Mart going to the foundation.  Prior fund raisers have included a Model Train Show, and a Lions Night at the royals.  The Committee would like to wish all the clubs success in the fund raising efforts throughout the year.  The Committee and the Foundation will provide any support that they can.

NLF Bingo fund raiser continues to be a huge success at the Nebraska State Fair.  Participating Lions and Lioness have found this project to be a great deal of fun.  This is one of the few times that we get to work together outside of our individual clubs.  We hope to continue this project in years to come.

The Committee is fully dedicated to the ideas and principles of Lionism and continually seeks ways to develop the resources needed for the operation of the Nebraska Lions Foundation.
